PINZOLO - In the historic centre of the most renowned village in Val Rendena, we offer a second-floor flat with an excellent southern exposure and an eastern view of the ancient frescoed church. The name Pinzolo, according to tradition, refers to the fact that there was only one pine tree (pin sol) in the plain. Pinzolo is situated at the bottom of the valley between majestic mountains and near the confluence of the two major branches of the Sarca (Sarca di Genova and Sarca di Campiglio). A famous centre of mountaineering tourism already at the beginning of the century, after the Second World War it expanded urbanistically, until it involved the entire bottom of the valley from Giustino to Carisolo. It is a winter and summer tourist resort, a starting point for ascents and traverses in the Adamello-Presanella Group, the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello Brenta Natural Park. Nepomuceno Bolognini, one of the most representative figures of the Trentino Risorgimento, was born in Pinzolo in 1823. In 1882, he founded the SAT - Società Alpinisti Tridentini (Trento Mountaineers' Society) in his home town, and deepened and spread knowledge of Pinzolo's history and folklore. The Church of San Vigilio (dating back to the 10th century) bears on its main façade one of the most extraordinary frescoes in the valley and perhaps in the entire Alpine arc, the Danza Macabra.
